About School

Immaculate Heart of Mary High School, Nellithope

"LOVE - LEARN - SERVICE - SACRIFICE"

Our institution proudly traces its roots to Rev. Fr. Louis Savinien Dupuis, the Founder of the Congregation of the Franciscan Sisters of the Immaculate Heart of Mary, Pondicherry. It is a matter of great pride that our Founder Father himself established, as the second school, the Immaculate Heart of Mary Government Aided High School, Nellithope, on July 2, 1859. His noble vision and missionary zeal laid the foundation for this temple of learning, which continues to enlighten young minds and nurture values through faith and education.

"Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world." – Nelson Mandela

With immense joy and gratitude, I welcome you to the website of Immaculate Heart of Mary Government Aided High School, Nellithope — a temple of learning founded on the values of faith, service, and dedication.

Our institution proudly traces its origins to the noble vision of Rev. Fr. Louis Savinien Dupuis, Founder of the Congregation of the Sisters of the Immaculate Heart of Mary, who established this school on July 2, 1859. His unwavering faith, tireless efforts, and deep commitment to the cause of education — especially women's empowerment and the upliftment of the poor — laid the strong foundation upon which our mission stands today.

Guided by his inspiring legacy, our school continues to enlighten young minds and nurture hearts rooted in spiritual and moral values. At IHM High School, we believe that true education forms not only the intellect but also the character. We aim to mould students who are academically excellent, morally upright, spiritually strong, and socially responsible.

Our devoted and dynamic teachers carry forward the rich heritage of our Founder through their dedication, creativity, and love for teaching. Together, we strive to create an atmosphere where every child feels valued, guided, and encouraged to realize their full potential.

We remain steadfast in our mission to empower students to become confident, compassionate individuals who contribute positively to their families, communities, and the nation. Academic excellence, character formation, and faith-based values continue to be the pillars of our educational journey.

As we look to the future, we thank God for His continued blessings and express our gratitude to all benefactors, parents, and well-wishers who support our vision of holistic education.

Let us walk forward in unity inspired by the vision of our Founder with faith in God, dedication to duty, and a heart ready to serve humanity.
